Great Tennis

Excellent Running Shoes!!!. if your budget is not enough to buy nimbus or kayano models. These tennis are the best option, look great on multicolours. True Size like other Asics Models. Run 3 miles everyday and are very comfortable.

Okay gym shoe - not up to par with ASICS Women's GEL-Phoenix 3

I bought my first pair of ASICS GEL-Phoenix 3 running shoes in January 2011. I used them daily and absolutely loved them. I purchased a replacement pair in February 2012 for almost daily trips to the gym, and transitioned the first pair to "everyday shoes." I recently tried to order a new pair, and was dismayed to discover that they have been discontinued. I contacted ASICS and they said that the Phoenix has been replaced with the Exalt. Here is why the Exalt is not as good:The size runs small. I've always worn size 8.5M. I ordered a pair of the Exalt in 8.5M and had to loosen the laces so much that there were barely enough laces left to tie knots. I exchanged them for a size 9M, which fits. There is a small bit of slippage in the heel but not enough to annoy me or deter me from wearing them.They are stiffer and harder in the sole - much less flex than the Phoenix. It takes a period of adjustment to get used to the new feel and the lack of flex in the foot.They are heavier. The Phoenix shoes that I bought in 2011 and 2012 weigh approximately 9.1 oz per shoe. The Exalt weighs approximately 9.5 oz per shoe. I do not believe this is the result of the Exalt having less wear as the 2011 Phoenix shoes have seen a TON more use than the 2012 Phoenix shoes with no appreciable difference in weight. A difference of 0.4 oz per foot doesn't sound like much, but you will feel it during the course of an hour's workout. I figure the small amount of extra weight gives me a better workout (though I curse it during exercises like burpees).Biggest drawback: LACK OF TRACTION, particularly in the toes. The tread almost appears "pre-worn." I compared the toe of the Exalt to the toe of my 2011 Phoenix shoes, and the tread on the Phoenix appears only slightly more worn. This is after wearing those shoes for running on pavement for a year, then transitioning them to everyday shoes that have accompanied me on long hikes through sand and rocky terrain. The tread in the toes of the Exalt is IDENTICAL to the tread in the toes of my 2012 Phoenix shoes, which have seen me through 1.5 years of almost daily use on a gym floor. While wearing the Exalt shoes, my feet slip during planks and mountain-climbers. The lack of traction is a huge bummer.Overall I'm wearing them as I don't know of a better option, but I wish ASICS hadn't messed with a good thing. I will say that two trainers at the gym almost immediately complimented me on the new shoes. They do look snazzy. However, I am going for function over fashion, so I'd trade the compliments for better fit and performance.

From Nike to ASICS and never going back

My girlfriend had a nice looking pair of Nike running shoes, but they left her feet riddled with blisters. How she stood them i can't say, perhaps it is that women are so use to wearing shoes that look good but are uncomfortable. Regardless, i took her shopping for shoes and knew that ASICS is in my opinion the best fitting brand out there. She picked these out while at Sports Authority and then we found them on Amazon for less and in a color combination that she preferred. We used a pair for a light hiking trip (e.g. 8 hours a day walking around towns, volcanos, shops, etc.) and these never gave her any problem. In fact they also corrected her over pronation and suited her high arched feet.
