BEST RUNNING SHOES EVER!

It would not surprise me if Runner's World chooses this pair of running shoes as a Best Update or simply the Best Pair of Shoes the next time they review running shoes in the Spring 2012 issue! I got Plantar Fasciitis in both feet and a painful heel spur in the right. I run a lot and most shoes seem to be uncomfortable even after around 100 or so miles (usually between the first 10-15 runs for me). I've always looked for either Motion Control/Cushioning support and owned pairs of running shoes from Brooks, Saucony, Nike, New Balance and even previous Asics models to name a few that I've tried. My size 12 under pronating feet to go along with my 6'2" nearly 200 lbs frame always seem to hurt as well my lower back and recently around my knees area on both legs as well. Looking around for a new pair, I was going after the 2160s but just didn't like the feel for them. Great shoe- don't get me wrong- but just wasn't for me as I wanted more cushioning than what the shoe was offering. However, I've discovered these 2170s next to the 2160s. Without any doubt, I can honestly tell you that I now have my best pair of running shoes I've ever owned. There is plenty of gel, foam, cushion and yet a firm-like support structure throughout the shoes that I can't recall ever feeling and now makes me want to run further than before and has got me feeling the joy of running when I first started to get into the sport. Even the sides of my feet are feeling good after a 10 mile run this morning. If your New Year's Resolution is to get back into shape and you want a good pair of running shoes to go running, jogging or brisk walking in- you can't go wrong with these shoes in my opinion (unless you are looking for minimalist shoes like 5 Fingers or Nike Free) as these Asics 2170s have the perfect combination of both cushioning and support structure I have run-around in during nearly 15 years of running.

Amazingly comfortable

I'm not a runner so I can't help those who are shopping for that purpose. However, these shoes are terrific for walking and daily wear. They produce a kind of walking on air effect. Light in weight, but excellent arch support. I will definitely be shopping for Asics Gel shoes when these need to be replaced down the road.

Asics Most Comfortable Ever

I LOVE these shoes. They're got more shock absorbtion than the GT-2160 and earlier models. I sing a happy song everytime I take a walk in them. Not crazy about the colors/styles but as for the construction of the shoe, it's unsurpassed.

Feels like a Sneaker,looks like an Office shoe

Recently I developed plantar fascitis in my left foot. This left me with a really sore arch and inflamed tendon every day after work. The Keen shoes I had were stylish but did not absorb shock from walking on hard floors that well. These Brooks were exactly what I needed. I would give them 5 stars but the laces were too short. I had to skip the top eyelets to make a decent knot. All in all, these Brooks Walking Shoes are a great option for those that can't wear tennis shoes at work.

great walking shoes for those with wide feet

These are the only shoes I find comfortable and long wearing. My shoe size when I joined the Marines, 64 years ago, was 6 1/2 EEEE. While some of the European shoes are great, they do not come in widths. So, this order is to replace a pair which are bit too big since I switched out of heavy socks. The order was prompt.

OK but not nearly as good as Brooks Addiction Walker

Shoe is built well but a bit snug for my tastes. I will use then occasionally but will stick with the Addiction Walkers from now on.

PERFECT for high arched feet! NOT LOW ARCH

OK, this will get pretty technical, so bare with me. Just so y'all know my background here, I used to work for a podiatrist as well as for one of the world's largest running stores.The way the Green Superfeet works is by providing support for someone with a HIGH arch. During the run, a high arch collapses and the green superfeet will actually help hold up the arch during the collapse. If you have LOW arches, do NOT buy this - use the blue superfeet. If you have low arches, this can actually cause plantar fasciitis by causing tension in the plantar facscia. I've seen many reviews saying it's great for low arches, so I wanted to give a heads up.Now, the one real cool thing about the Superfeet is that they have the hard plastic bottom. This, contrary to what seems logical, is the most healthy shock absorption for your feet. Compare it to running on sand versus running on cement. if you run on sand, your joints work a lot harder, and your body is not able to absorb the shock as well, causing pain. If you run on cement, your subtalar joint won't splay outwards as much, causing the fatty tissue under your foot to take more of the shock. The Superfeet encourages this with a deep heel cup, so it supports your heel, forcing the fatty tissue to cup your heel, creating the best shock absorption ever.My personal opinion on this? I have it in all my shoes! I own about ten pairs of green Superfeet - they last forever, and the toe is perfectly flexible for a great toe-off during running. There is also a small layer of dense foam between the plastic and where your foot sits, allowing your foot to make it's own "custom mold" into the insole.

Super Superfeet

If you work on your feet or do a lot of walking these are the insoles for you! They are the most recommended insoles by podiatrists for mild roll-over problems and my chiropractor sells them in his office. Not only do they keep your feet in a neutral position (level and straight) but they reduce wear and tear on shoes by doing so (less weardown on outsides or insides of soles). I work 40+ hours a week on concrete and suffered from constant pain in my feet, ankles, knees and hips. After Superfeet were inserted into my work shoes, I noticed a dramatic difference after only 1 week (I started with new shoes so I wasn't fighting against existing wear). They also last months longer than cheaper insoles. I recommend these to my customers and friends without reservation.

Superfoot

I also have plantar fascitis from hopping around so much. I wear these in every single pair of shoes I have. They are also great for ski and snowboard boots if you have wide, flat feet - the higher arch will raise your foot slightly and help prevent flattening where your toes just goosh out in all of the wrong sideways directions. If you are looking at cheaper gel or rubber type insoles to help cure some foot pain, don't try it. You're going to waste money like I did until you find your super feet.

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to buy running shoes to go to his/her local running store and finding a pair that is a good fit. A local running store with experts is the best...not a DSW warehouse type of store. I went to Runningfit, did a walking test, learned that I overpronate and needed a good stability shoe. I tried on several pairs, but the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 fit my feet the best. In my opinion, Mizuno's tend to be narrower and size is smaller. I went up half a size.These shoes are incredibly lightweight, provide sufficient cushioning (although I thought Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 provided more cushion but it wasn't as lightweight), and support my feet well to prevent injury. I love these shoes. I love the color. I've only had them a few days and have ran 30+ miles. Absolutely no regrets.If you don't have access to a running store, have someone watch you walk to see if you pronate. You can also take online tests that will recommend shoes for you ([...]). I also suggest runningwarehouse.com because they provide FREE returns. I've had a positive experience with their customer service as well.Bottom line: 1) try on shoes to find a good fit. 2) I love my Mizuno's.Happy Running!

Love my Wave Inspire 8s, don't love these

I have been running (injury free, yay) on Wave Inspire 8s for some time. I love them beyond belief. I was excited about try the 9s. Despite the fact that they look awesome they feel completely different to me--less cushy, tighter, not "made for my feet" like the 8s feel. I have a crappy knee and need lots of cushioning, and these aren't going to cut it. Going to return these and pick up a couple pairs of 8s before they are gone from stores.

What a shoe!

I bought these shoes at a local running store, not Amazon, but I love them so much I had to pass on a good word.I started running last year with a pair of Asics. They were a motion control shoes to help me with my gait. After wearing them out thoroughly, I went back to my local store and was fitted again. They had me try on 4 different shoes and this one was the winner by a long shot.I'm picky about how my shoes fit - very picky. I also have a borderline narrow foot, so shoes like most Brooks don't work for me because the toe box is too big. My Asics were great while I was "learning" how to run, but the motion control came too be too much and I found myself tripping over their bulk. I needed something lighter, something that would conform to my foot and run with me, not against me. Enter, the Mizuno Inspire 9.I can't say enough good things about this shoe! It fits my heel/ankle area perfectly. It hugs in all the right places and makes me feel like my shoes are on securely. The toe box is a perfect fit, as well. An attribute that sold me on the toe box is its mesh covering. My feet get really hot when I run (despite appropriate socks). The mesh helps my feet aerate while I'm running, so I don't have to take my shoes off immediately after to let them dry. Also, the material on the shoes seems pliable enough that as my feet swell after running, the shoes don't dig into my feet. My last pair I had to take off within minutes of ending my run because of heat and swelling. I've worn these for hours after and felt like they are not only comfortable, but also therapeutic. And all these great qualities aren't even my favorite! My favorite part about these shoes is the internal structural plate. When I'm running, I can feel the energy transfer difference. With my last pair of shoes, as I fatigued, my shoes felt heavier and my steps became sloppy. With these shoes, as I run, I feel like I get into a better groove and can transition steps even more effectively.As far as I'm concerned, I will keep using these shoes until Mizuno changes the design too much or until they are no longer made. I'm training for a half marathon in August and feel confident knowing I'll have these shoes along for the ride.

These shoes (and a woman's body) have a way of shutting the whole thing down

An essential tool for running down the clock in a state 773 miles wide and 790 miles long! These shoes are perfect for those days when you must spend 13+ hours standing, not lean on your desk or take any breaks - even for meals or to use the bathroom. The snazzy hot pink color brings out your inner badassness and helps you to "humbly give voice to thousands of Texans" and stop a "raw abuse of power" in its tracks. Raise a feminist army and lead the charge when your competitors cheat and change the rules on you. These Mizuno's are built to protect your feet from mudslinging and add sunshine to the political process. Highly recommended for fierce women and anyone who's not a Greedy Old Prick (GOP).

I bought them in pink with green stripe. I will put them on my feet when I need to run far. When I am tired, I will ask myself: WWWD?! Then I will keep running.
